I saw that there were a few older posts on this topic, but anyone have any information on massages in Maui?

Last time I was in Kauai I had an amazing lomi lomi massage at Aunie Angeline's. I'm hoping to come close to that experience. Tempted to get an inter-island flight during my stay just to go -- it was THAT great.

Spa Grande @ Grand Wailea Resorts on Maui . . . lomi lomi ??? I dunno.

Every massage I've ever had on the islands has included Lomi-lomi. There are lots of therapists who will come to where you're staying, in addition to the resorts.

Anyone in particular that you would recommend, Tess?

Makai Massage was the company we recently used. Tiffany was the therapist we had and she was amazing. I had to dig up the name of the company off our credit card statements to give you the name.

For those of you going to Maui interested in massage I want to let you know there is a massage school on Maui that offers discounted massages from their students. I can't remember the name of the school but I know it's listed in the phonebook. It's in Makawao. I haven't been there in a while but I had a good massage for about $25.00.
I'm a massage therapist so this post caught my eye. I am always checking out the massage world when I travel.
If you're looking for an authentic Lomi Lomi massage ask the person who their Kumu is or was. This would be their teacher. You can find a serious Lomi Lomi person this way (who will probably be pretty good)
The Grand Wailea Spa is absolutely amazing just for the experience. It will cost you, but it is wonderful for all their amenities. If you go there, take advantage of them.
Remember, massage is not a luxury, it's a necessity!

Resort-wise, I've been to the spas at the Grand Wailea and the Hyatt on Maui. Both were very nice. I actually liked the Hyatt's spa better than the GW's, although the GW's was bigger and had more amenities.
