Amazed, that's an awful thing to say about someone's children. You don't bring children into a fight. That's like accusing someone's husband of having a mistress- you just don't go there!

Cookie:

Suggest and accuse are two different things.
Husbands can defend themselves...an even match for another adult.
Children can not. You obviously do not have kids nor a husband or wife not to mention your lack of compassion...which explains why probably are not like a mom or a spouse.

Oaktown, what compassion am I lacking? I was trying to defend you. Sorry, I won't bother in the future.

Your all arguing about zilch.. M.V. is going to be mobbed again, because the Clintons are going over to vacation.. Just find out when they are NOT going to be there.. Carla, housing is even difficult for seasonal workers so you may have a problem, but good luck..

Parrot Mom & Carla:

I don't want to be contrary but, the Clinton's come to MV more than the media informs. When the media informs believe me the frenzy is not. Some who see them are definately excited but no frenzy ensues.
Bill, Hil & Chelsey are just like other MV folks. You know all three are very approachable. They drink coffee, eat at restaurants and frequent bookstores like the rest of us. Really, its not a big deal. Many famous folks are in the Vineyard. It is not like a star sighting as the media may have you think.

If my information, perspective or opinion angers, irritates or upsets anyone so be it.

My travel advice: Go. But, do not stay away because they visit.

You could try The Harbor Landing in Vineyard Haven (800-545-4171.) They are budget timeshares but rent out units when there are cancellations. They have a common kitchen which has everything you need to cook (except food), new gas grills, a deck, and most of the units are newly renovated. The rooms are small, but have tv and little refrigerators; the staff is very helpful and friendly. There's a grocery and a convenience store nearby, but I think the cheapest grocer is in Oak Bluffs.

Good luck and have fun!

Once again, Oaktown has hijacked a potentially useful thread and cluttered it up with her personal crap. By my count, this thread has *10 POSTS* by OT, not one containing a single useful bit of info for Carla's legitimate questions. I'm serious in this request: Oaktown, if you can't post something pertinent and useful, please don't bother. I know it's your internet 'right' to post, but if you're just doing it for your own amusement and boasting-rights, why bother? Side note: if your personal relationships are as rude and self-absorbed as your internet contributions, I'd be surprised if you have any genuine "friends and connections" in MV or anywhere else.
Kind, gentle, polite--try it on for size.
