sorry carla, but summer is a bad time to go to MV on a budget. everything there is so exorbitantly expensive it is just retarded. MV has become so hyped that in the end you're better off going to mexico or somewhere else. you'll spend up less and u wonn't have to deal with snooty out of towners whose sense of entitlement is one of the world's remaining mysteries.

Gosh, I have rarely to never heard such a "blast" about MV. I take that back. This real famous and very rich guy wanted to buy a house on MV and could not so he went on and on like you...
Hey, are you him?????????????????
CARLA: BTW, any place can be a bargin, you just have to work at it. Research this topic and you will find plenty of info. on this site about MV.
Additionally, as one who is a "regular" to MV in the summer I want you to know that MANY families, more precisely, their ancestors, have worked very hard so that other family members could enjoy MV as they did. You will find the history on property ownership to be both rare and intriguing.
Some people do not know or appreciate this rich history.
You will find some of the finest folks around on MV. The friends and connections that you nurture are yours for life. You really can not say that about every vacation place in America.

Sigh, Roll eyes, shake head...
CON & DESPECIBLE: Get a real life NOW.
I suggested to Carla that she do r-e-s-e-a-r-c-h (got that?) on this site about MV.
If you two "pains" were really into the topic you would know that this topic has had lots of various and previous input from many on this site.
Let Carla decide. And, the ADVICE that you gave her was WHAT exactly???
Get that selective AADD (adult attention deficeit disorder) looked into to prior to your next "drive-by" postings.

oaktown, you are the pain in the a**. you sound like a particularly annoying, self-centered woman to me. i am sooooo gald i don't know - wait, maybe i do! so, why don't you ever contribute information? temperature in san francisco, good restaurants in napa, top 100 things to do in the area? you are such a woman of the world i am sure you would have many fun things with which to enliven said threads...

Carla, why not just skip M's V and try staying on the much more affordable Cape -- and just take a day-trip over to the Vineyard or Nantucket. I happen to agree with Stephen about the Vineyard -- it's just not a comfortable place for anyone not hooked into the yacht and private jetset. The only exception would be if your taste runs to hosteling and biking everywhere.
(And I'm sorry you had the misfortune to have Oaktown seize on your question, since she derails just about any thread for her own wacky ego -- somebody please make her go away).

You've chosen a tough vacation spot to do on a budget but I do have a suggestion. I know ACK has a youth hostel (I don't know how old you are) that is suprisingly nice. It is right across from the beach in a very nice neighborhood. Perhaps MV has the same. If you are too old to be doing the youth hostel thing, there is also an art school that owns cottages (sorry I don't knopw the name). If no artists are renting these cottages they rent them to anyone at very discounted rates, between $ 950 and $ 1200 a week.
Other than that I would agree with the suggestion of staying on the Cape. There are towns (Brewster, Chatham, Wellfleet, etc) that are every bit as lovely as MV that might have more affordable accomodations. Of course, if you can wait 'til after labor day the rates drop dramatically everywhere.

YAWN, YAWN and YAWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
C& NV: You two done with your TRAVEL postings yet????
p.s. Do thorough research on my travels before you go creating a lame profile of what you "know" about my travels to make YOU feel "better" about ME.
Note: You have opted to make your posts all about me...go figure.
BTW: You will NEVER be able to log all or most of my travel, but for starters turn this USA site upside down..then wipe the embarassment off your silly face.
Next, thoroughly search the Europe, Canada, Cruise, Other and Grab Bag threads for starters.
Then, get a life, a t-r-a-v-e-l passport and try to hang on to the hem of my travel garment!

Oaktown,
Apparently your Mom and Dad neglected to teach you that a well bred person would sooner be caught wearing last year's dress to the cotillion than be heard spouting off about themselves, what they have, and what they have done. That, dear, is in the very poorest of taste, and indicative of those who are from anything *but* a privileged life.

ok, oaktown, i went a-searchin for some of your "travel" threads and came up empty handed! over in europe, you're spouting off about taking lots of luggage with you and enlisting the drooling men (yeah, right) to help carry it all, buying ferragamos in san francisco, purchasing a leather jacket for your son in italy - but no mention of where... and on, and on, and on.
perhaps you were too busy with the gettys to take notes? no - you have the time to toot your horn about everything, you're certainly not that busy!
ciao!

Now that you got that out the way why don't you two talk amongst yourselves.
Your "findings" speak volumes for all interested in ME.
Keep up the great work!
Oaktown
p.s. I did say that you would NEVER find...right?
Thought so.
You are SOOOOO stupid!!!!
Now go do something useful with your evening. I am sorry. That can't happen because you don't have a life.

Maybe Oaktown will hire Carla(or any of us other posters she looks down upon) as a nanny for the summer and offer her free room and board so that she can head off for manicure/pedicure/facial/movie afternoons. Since she has no manners I can only imagine what horrible monsters her children must be!!!!
Carla- good luck finding a nice place to stay on the cape or MV.

AIOLI?
(Is that moniker one with meaning for you?)
Prior to today I would give a traveler the Dior shirt off my back.
We have a place and we rent our other place.
Due to today's thread I regret that I will not be stating where either of our places are.
To you Internet Stalkers of ME you may think you "know" but you do not so give it a rest!
As a side note our rental is always booked for most of the travel seasons.
Despite the crap that you will read about me, we have always made a place or had the bandwidth to make that happen for friends and travelers that we meet.

AMAZED:
You have stooped to an all time low.
You NEVER take on someones kids!
What are you crazy and that insanely jealous that you have to try and pick on those who are smaller than you?
You are one very sick poster. Some lines, even on the Internt are not to be crossed.
Pathetic, absolutely pathetic!
Thank you for showing all of us your EXCELLENT manners. Now we know how to behave.

I have to say that this is not right. I may not "like" Oaktown Traveller but you went too far.
I post regularly but will not use my name because of the hatred that I see today. Oaktown does have a lot that even I as a man find enviable from time to time but you can not attack her children. What on earth did she ever do to you?
