Manhattan Restauant to Take Mum

I would like to take my mother to a nice restaurant in Manhattan and would appreciate any suggestions. Nothing too trendy but something with a friendly atmosphere and great food. Thanks for your help.

Dozens if not hundreds of threads on this website address NYC restaurants. Do a search in the text box.

Also check out Citysearch, Zagat's, Time Out New York, etc. There are literally thousands of restaurants in Manhattan.

When you have a few ideas as to type of cuisine, neighborhood, budget, etc., post again.

Good luck with your research.

Yes, like Gekko said, there are too many places to name. It depends on price range, food preferance, neighborhood,etc... I use zagats and chowhound.com for ideas. However one favorite of ours is Scalini Fedeli, very good Italian and a fairly small restaurant, not too loud or trendy.

Echoing the first two posters, we definitely would need more information:
Price?
Location?
Type(s) of food?
There are literally thousands to choose from!

Sorry to have been to vague in my first posting. Some restaurants that I have been thinking about are Aureole, L'Impero, Cub Room, Union Pacific, Babbo or Gramery Tavern. Any thoughts on these?

All are excellent. For mum I'd suggest L'Impero because the atmosphere is better for mums, if you know what I mean. (It's relatively quiet, less hustle-bustle.) Also L'Impero is in a unique location, Tudor City, that adds to the festivities.

Enjoy!
