Manhatta in NYC, getting Rez versus walkup

Good morning

I should have attempted much earlier to get Rez for my upcoming visit to see a friend. I learned about this restaurant just a few weeks ago while visiting other friends, there, and I should have jumped that same day. What a view! 60th floor.

Darn it. Booked.

Does anyone know if you can walk up for the bar - have a drink and linger?

Thank you.

Hi flyergirl, I can't say for sure about just drinks, but the restaurant, Robert, at the Museum of Arts and Design, had a great view of Columbus Circle. From my notes:

Dinner: Robert at MAD, 2 Columbus Cir., 9th floor. Rioja, duck with cherry/grand marnier reduction, Bombolini*, Cappuccino, $75.67. A- (WOW view, neat setting, great service, one piece of duck not perfect.)

Definitely not 60th floor.

Coincidentally, I just saw an article about Vessel and Hudson Yards. The Edge is mentioned: 100th floor of 30 Hudson Yards.

Hi! I am back from NYC.

So many options! We did not make it to Manhatta but we did make it to the Hotel Hugo rooftop, which had a stunning view of the sunset. Just gorgeous.

I now have a nice list of rooftops to consider for other trips...

Thank you for the recs, Tdudette!

You're welcome, flygirl. Hugo website looks fabulous; glad you found it. Please share your rooftop list when you get a chance.
