This is what I said in my original post. It was not intended to be a controversial post. I was seconding travelbuff's suggestion - based on my personal experiences.

"travelbuff makes a good point about Duane Reades. They aren't like drug stores at home. They carry food, water, snacks, and most of what you may want/need while you are in the city."

"home" = my home. There is a good chance it is the same for others. There is a good chance that it is different for others. It was just a comment.
