Maine Coast RR?
Found an interesting train ride in an older book - the Maine Coast RR. Is it still in operation? Anyone know anything - good or bad??? Planning on being in the area in early Sept.

According to the "history" page on Maine's DOT site, Maine Coast RR operates excursion from 1991-2000. It has been closed.

If you a rr buff, there is a Portland to Boston and return train still operating.

Portland has a narrow gauge railway that runs around the Eastern Promenade. I think there is still a dinner train that runs out of Belfast.

There is new service, I think it's from Brunswick to Wiscasset and back, info is at MaineEasternRailroad. I think they told us it was $50 one way so we passed.
