Luxury Van Rental - Long Island area

Eight of us are planning to drive from Long Island to Louisville, KY for the derby in May. Does anyone know of a company that would rent a "luxury" van (tvs, comfortable seating, etc) for 5 days? Thanks.

You may want to try all the major car rental companies in your area. May not hurt to check out an RV rental place also.

Even with a full size conversion van you will be crowded and overloaded with eight people and bags. Most conversions vans have 4 captains chairs and one bench seat (3) and will only seat 7 with any kind of comfort. Your next best bet would be a 12 or 15 seat passenger van. If you go this route just make sure you understand how to drive one. They must be driven differently than a passenger car since the vehicle is so high and heavy. No matter what you decide on, make sure it will fit all the people in comfort, nothing like a cramped up road trip.

Thanks for the advice. Yes, 12 hours is way too long to be cramped into a too-small vehicle. We are 7 definates and 1 maybe, but we also have 2 small dogs and I'd rather get something bigger so we have more room. I didn't consider the RV route. How much would that run per day?

RVs are generally about $75 to $100 per day. You have to buy your own gas, though, and that will get expensive!

Keep in mind that you'll have to PARK the big vehicle somewhere in Louisville during the Derby, too.

Parking will not be a problem, my parents have a house in KY where we will be staying. I will look into getting an RV, thanks -
