Lunch in the West 40's
We will be staying at the Mansfield on W. 44th@5th and would like to try something a little different for lunch on Sunday before going to the Matinee at the Neil Simon theater on 52nd. Any recommendations for Indian, Ethiopian or Vietnamese in this area would be appreciated.

Many of these ethnic places are either closed on Sun. or just not open for lunch on Sun. Almost next door to your hotel is Jewel of India that appears to be open for Sunday lunch. I think it's just "ok" but Utsav, which I much prefer and which has a great lunch buffet on other days is not open for lunch on a Sunday.
Bay Leaf nearish the theater has their buffet lunch on Sunday. I haven't tried their buffet, but I think poster mikemo here has and liked it.

Tintol is 2 blocks from your hotel and serves Spanish tapas. They have a brunch that might interest you.

Sukhadia (Indian) is a block from your hotel and gets great reviews but again, appears not to be open on Sun.

Queen of Sheba is evidently really good Ethiopian not that far, but again not open for lunch on Sunday. I mention these in case you have some time on another day.
