We've found an awesome place to stay, on a working farm near Stonington. Now I need the specifics & hidden joints I would otherwise never find. Any lobster place is good as well as markets (farmers).

What time of year? There's a Lupine festival in mid-June. You can get a list of farmers markets on the Maine Dept of Agriculture website also a brochure at the tourist info at the rest areas. On your way, Brunswick (near Rt 95) has a wondeful farmers market on Fridays - 4th of July week we were able to buy homemade biscuits and fresh strawberries. Great breads. Interesting mushrooms and fresh veggies. Some prepared ethnic foods. also unusual herb plants. We've only been to Stonington twice. The Blue Hill Penninsula is lovely. If you like flowers looks for the Blue Poppy place. On the way, before you get as far as Ellsworth, stop at Just Barb's on Rt 1 in Stockton Springs for a lobster roll. Taste test whoopie pies (my husband votes for Steve's chocolate with peanut butter filling) and look for homemade pies. My favorite pie is strawberry rhubarb. Did not care for the wine at the winery near Stonington but we love Cellar Door Winery in Lincolnville just north of Camden. Another place to stop for a wine tasting if you are traveling on Rt 1. There's some great info on Chowhound about lobster etc.
