looking for short term suite in Carlsbad

I would like some recommendations for the Carlsbad area. We are going to be staying on and off for four+ days at a time. I'm a fan of the Four Seasons chain but 4S Aviara is not on my list of their better hotels. In fact, it is one I can say that we don't like. We're looking for something that has a suites feel but comfortable and peaceful. (Aviara is anything but). Perhaps something a few steps up from an Embassy Suites. AND PET FRIENDLY (bird). I'll be moving my parents to Senior Housing in the area so it will take numerous trips and stays of unknown length. A place oriented to vacation stays and area attractions will be a negative. Senior care has been an angst ridden experience so I want a calming environment. Room Service (especially breakfast) is a big plus.

La Costa Spa & Resort just did a huge renovation and we had a lovely suite overlooking the golf course.
Deepak Chopra has a mind and body center that is wonderful too.
You can also try the new Grand Del Mar that just opened this week and also,
Rancho Valencia in Rancho Santa Fe is wonderful.
Best to you!

Phew! Thanks for setting me straight TT. I was hoping I wasn't going to have to be the one to break it to OP that there were no Four Season like hotels in Carlsbad NM!

Sorry, I posted this on the California site so I thought it would be found there and self explanitory. 4S Aviara is in the North San Diego area.

Nevisian, all posts go into the general US category, confusing but true. That's why it's a good idea to put the specific location in your title.

Thanks for the info TahitiTams. I've looked at all three and they seem to be what we're looking for. I wish the rest of you could have been as helpful. Thank you for setting me straight on my error but do any of you have any hotel suggestions for Carlsbad (north of San Diego), California, USA? Zip code 92009.

Nevisian, if you ever plan to post here again, then please take note of the advice that dmlove offered. It may not have answered the question you posed on this thread, but it's valuable advice.

I was also trying to be helpful as well. There are 2 other cities named Carlsbad - here in NM and in Texas.

People on here try to help posters when the subject seems confusing bu suggesting better topic subjects. Also, they try to inform posters that all threads appear on the "general" board no matter what state [on US board] you highlight or what country on the other boards doesn't impact how they show up. It only helps if you are searching and click on the specific state or country. That will bring up posts that the OP remembered to click on when first posting. Otherwise, it does nothing. There are no "sub-boards".

Good luck.
