looking for oldies dance club in San Francisco

We are late 40's and want to go dancing one night in SF. We're staying at Fisherman's Wharf, but will taxi . Anybody know a club with live music where they play music from the 60's and 70's? How about a swing dance club? Many thanks for any help!

Check & see if Bimbos still has swing dance nights.
I don't know if that's the correct name but I know there a "Bimbos" in the name.

Polly Esther's has a location in SF - can't recall where but think it may be in North Beach. They're a disco revival dance club with 70's music.

Elsie, go to the Top of the Mark in the Mark Hopkins Hotel! You'll have an incredible view of the city lights and they have swing sessions on Thursday nights and a jazz orchestra on Friday nights performing swing and jazz music. There should be plenty of dancers on the floor.

Elsie,

You might want to try Harry Denton's Starlight Room. I think it's at the top of the Sir Francis Drake Hotel. I believe the last time I was there, they had an orcestra of sorts (with singer) playing jazz, swing, some contemporary. It's a mixture of locals, out of towners or residents from the nearby suburbs who come into SF for an evening on the town. The couple times i've been there, it seems like people are having a good time. I think if you do a search online, you'll find a website.

Also, I second a previous poster's suggestion of Top of the Mark. The view of the city is beautiful.

I second Polly Esther's. You can't go wrong with their theme floors - 70s on one and 80s on the other. It's a hit in every city.
