Looking for nice Boston/Cambridge hotel with indoor pool

Hi.

I am heading to Boston from Vermont for a few days during my kids February vacation. We have tickets for the Celtics game on 2/28 and want to spend a few days in the city around this date. We would love the property to have an indoor pool and be within walking distance of the "T". Downtown Boston or Cambridge is preferred. I have found good rates ($109) on expedia.com for Boston Park Plaza, Boston Radisson and the Wyndham Boston which are tempting. I haven't hit priceline or hotwire quite yet....the pool draw is important since the kids enjoy that.

I have found these forums to be quite helpful in other trips I have taken...thanks in advance for your insight and information.

Jay

We stayed at Le Meridian in Boston last Summer. It has an indoor pool. We were able to walk from there to the Aquarium, a theatre show (blue man group), the tour bus stops, and the popular shop/dinning area (was it called Fenell Hall or something?) Our room was very large and the staff was very good to us. Our little one got the flu and the staff took very good care of us.

The Marriot at Longwharf has a pool, and is in a great location overlooking the harbor, right across the road from Fanuel Hall, near the North End, and right over a T stop.

Okay...in doing some more looking, I came across the new Doubletree in downtown. This is interesting since the rooms seem nice and guests have access to a new YMCA next door with an olympic size pool and basketball courts. Anyone stay here?

The Y might have more of a structure pool use policy than a hotel. Lap swimmers don't like kids playing in 'their' lanes. Double check the Y policies before booking the hotel.

Another vote for the Meridien. Very nice atmosphere, service, convenient location. Great value rates on weekends.

We just got back from the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge. It had a large pool which was open until 10:30 P.M. We chose it because it is within walking distance of the Science Museum. They were waiving the parking fee at that time which is normally 19.00 a night. I just saw that the rate is now 99.95 on Hotels.com which is 10.00 cheaper than what we paid. You can also request a refridgerator in your room for no charge. This was helpful for us with 3 kids. I would definitely recommend it.

Ditto for the Royal Sonesta. Nice pool. Eat at the casual restaurant on premise - found Davios overpriced, and noisy and smokey at night. There are a lot of properties in the Copley area than have indoor pools (Marriott, Westin, Sheraton.). Cambridge Hyatt has a pool but is very inconvenient by public transportation (actually, almost impossible). I don't think the Park Plaza has a pool, and a lot of iffy reviews.

The RoseWharf is my favorite. Beautiful rooms, right on the water, walking distance to Fanuel Hall, and a beautiful indoor pool. Might be expensive though.

Hi again....last call, I need to make my reservation on Monday. I believe I have narrowed this down to:
Radisson Boston - $94
Swissotel - $99
Marriott Long Wharf - $129

They all have pools and all else I need. Anyone with a last minute suggestion on one of the above?

Thanks!
