Looking for casual restaurant in Midtown

We are looking for a place to have a quick dinner before an event tomorrow night; we are staying at Flatotel and the event is near MSG--for those of you who helped us you before, we now have to be there earlier than we thought. We just don't want to get hung up at a nice restaurant when we probably only have an hour to eat (on the early side) so even a place with decent bar food is great).

Looking for tomorrow night, so if anybody sees this, I would appreciate any recommendations.

Many thanks,

Mary

I always recommend:

Gino on Lexington.

I don't get out much, but have enjoyed the food and the nice people there. Upper East, but not too far upper. Very 'business casual' atmosphere.

A great choice right across from MSG -- Tir Na Nog.

Another option: www.stoutnyc.com

It's a cavernous space with surprisingly good food.

Yo, I was just at Seven on Sunday for drinks before the Madonna concert. I don't like the food there, but the drinks are good.

Tir Na Nog is also good for drinks, but I don't like the food.

I do like Vert Singe. It's French, the food is good. The waitstaff is very snooty. I think some of them gals is on crack.

Yo, Tina, it's Le Singe Vert. A lot of people seem to disagree with you on the food. http://menupages.com/restaurantdetai...=0&cuisineid=0

Well, I like the food at the Green Monkey. LOL! It ain't someplace like Babbo, but hey, you aren't paying those prices either.

PS Just for a reference, my mother and father own a famous--although it is small--restaurant in Paris.
