Longwood Gardens lodging and Christmas
Our family is considering a 1-2 night stay in the Brandywine valley for Christmas..
Thought it would be nice to see the presentations at Longwood Gardens.
Can anyone recommend a great place to stay for the holiday...one that would have a lot of charm and ambience and would be all decked out for the holiday?
Also, restaurant and other activity suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks in advance and a Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I have never needed to stay in the area so I can't help you with a personal lodging rec but I hope the following link may prove useful if no one else is able to help,
http://www.bvbb.com/
With regard to other activities, this is a beautiful area to visit at Christmastime! In addition to Longwood, we like to visit Winterthur, Brandywine River Museum and the Hagley Museum. See links below. Can't help with local restaurants but for lunch, Longwood, Winterthur and the Brandywine River Museum all have great cafes.

Two years ago we were in that area and stayed at
The Inn At Mendenhall, Chadds Ford, PA.
Sounds like just what you are seeking.

Right down the street from the Mendenhall is a very nice B&B called The Fairville Inn.

Also, the Inn at Montchanin Village is beautiful.

I agree, the Inn at Montchanin Village is beautiful and would be my pick. We live too close to justify an overnight trip but have been to their restaurant, Krazy Kats, a few times and love it. The village setting is very charming.
