Long weekend in San Francisco

Hi,
I'm heading to San Francisco in mid-March. How is the weather there at that time? Anything special going on that I should not miss? I will be staying in the Noe Valley area. Any restaurants that I should not miss? Thanks for your suggestions...

Hello avd,
Mid-March is the later part of our rainy season. Temps in the 50's and 60's for the most part, although there can be a few warmer days. Definitely some rain.
If you are staying in Noe Valley, the stretch of 24th Street between Douglass and Church has many restaurants. If you like sushi, Hamano Sushi on Castro near 24th is excellent and has nice atmosphere.

Agree with dovima about the abundance of restaurants in the Noe Valley area. If you like Italian, try Bacco or Incanto.

It turns out that I am staying in the Glen Park area of San Francisco when I visit in March. Any ideas for that area? Thank you for the great suggestions. avd

Glen Park and Noe Valley are not very far apart. Glen Park is one of my favorite neighborhoods. It's hilly, has many wooded, secluded streets and interesting residential architecture. There's a street with restaurants and shops (is it Bosworth? - some one help us out here) that winds up a hill. Also a very useful BART station (Glen Park Station of course) that will zip you downtown in minutes.

Chenery Street is the main drag in Glen Park. It runs from 30 St. to Diamond St. I haven't eaten there recently but there are a few cafes & burrito places, at the least.

I had a good meal at Chenery Park Restaurant on Chenery Street in Glen Park recently. Worth a visit since you are in the area. www.chenerypark.com
