Long Island

I am planning a trip to Manhattan and I can save $250 per ticket flying into Long Island. Does anyone know how convenient this is?

Not INconvenient-- there are some pretty good transportation choices between Islip and Manhattan. Check on this website:

There was just a recent thread on this subject. If you do a search for Islip, it will probably come up. You will have to take the train or use other transportation (i.e., Hampton Jitney) to get into the city from there. Otherwise you will need to rent a car and it's expensive to park in Manhattan.

If you're talking about Islip MacArthur airport, it's not very convenient to get to NYC, but doable. There are several previous threads on this. Type Islip to NYC in the "search this forum" box above & click on any of the posts that come up. A taxi/limo is about $100 each way so if there's 2 of you, you still save$. If you're prepared to be a bit more inconvenienced, you can take a bus to the Ronkonkoma train station & then a train into Penn station-cost maybe $15/person each way. There's info at the Islip airport website too.
