Lodging in Reno
Its me again. During our SF trip we plan to go to Reno on the last leg and fly out from there. My question is:
1. What do you consider the nicest lodging and casino. We don't like excessive noises ( example: Circus Circus,New York New York)
Pay slots and husband play poker some. Not big gamblers.
2. Prefer play that doesn't cater to family but adults.
3. Like to stay and do most of gambling at same place.
4. Like it convenient to visit other casinos within a walking distance.
Thanks for your help

We are fully comped regulars at the Flamingo Hilton in downtown Reno. I would recommend the Flamingo. The Flamingo does NOT cater to families which suits us fine also. Their casino is pretty decent. Good 24 hour cafe but buffet is lousy. You can walk a block to the El Dorado or Silver Legacy if you want a decent buffet. The El Dorado and Silver Legacy are Circus Circus properties which should be enough reason to stay away except to eat.
The Flamingo has two excellent upscale restaurants on site. They are Bennihana and the Top of the Hilton.

I agree 100% that John Ascuaga's Nugget in Sparks is definitely the best property in the Reno area. Very elegant, great restaurants and the best buffet around. We always go there to eat at least once every visit to Reno.
The reason that I did not recommend it is that you stated that you wish to be near the other casinos. That would eliminate John Ascuaga's Nugget as it is isolated from the rest except for a couple very small dingy places in Sparks.
The Flamingo is in Downtown Reno where most of hte casinos are.

Hi Linda,
We just got back today from Reno. Our favorite place to stay is the Silver
Legacy. The rooms are nice, the people are nice and the food is great. Last trip we stayed at the El Dorado and I like the Legacy better. The people at the El Dorado are rude, we gambled there this week-end and you could never find a change person plus we won several jackpots but had to wait 35 and 45 minutes to get paid. The seafood buffet is very good at the El Dorado. The Legacy has a steakhouse called Fairchilds - it has really good food. If you decide to eat there make sure you make reservations a day in advance because it books fast.
Have Fun!!!
