Lodging in Gardiner, Montana

We're driving from Butte to Yellowstone and looking for a reasonable place to stay in Gardiner. Anyone have an opinion of Yellowstone Basin Inn, Yellowstone River Motel or Yellowstone Village Inn?

I'm curious why you are going to Gardiner since you are coming from the west. My recomendation would be to stay in West Yellowstone. It's on the west side of the park and MUCH more central to all of Yellowstone.

Where ever you stay, check it out on tripadvisor.com. We stayed in Gardiner at a motel in the Comfort Inn chain, or some such. In the morning, "breakfast" consisted of a loaf of fluffy white bread, a jar of peanut butter, a Tang-like beverage, and coffee. The staff stood back and sneered or giggled as "guests" tried to figure out what was going on.

Thanks for the replies. We are limiting our 2 1/2 days in Yellowstone mostly to the lower loop. We thought if we drove down through Gardiner, it would at least give us a chance to visit Mammoth. We have reservations in the park at Old Faithful Snow Lodge one night and another at Lake.
