Lodging ideas for Yosemite National Park?

We are going to Yosemite as part of our Honeymoon in August 1998 and would love some suggestions on where we should stay? Is it better to stay in the park or should we get out of the crowds? Our budget is $100 - 125 a night. I have made a reservation at Yosemite Lodge, but have heard there is a lot of traffic in that area. We have also thought of getting a condo. Can anyone recommend one? Thanks for all your help in advance!

Without a doubt I would stay at the Tenaya Lodge in Fish Camp (just outside the southern entrance). It is fabulous in every way and beautiful too. They say they are the only 4 diamond resort anywhere near Yosemite. Look no further!

We went to Yosemite 2 yrs ago. Stayed at the Yosemite West Condos.(209)454-2033 You have to go thru park to get to them. 1/2 way between valley and Wawona. Very reasonably priced and great location.Close but not in the middle of everything. Also have 2 agencies that rent chalets in same area-(209)642-2211 and (209)372-4240. Condos even had fireplaces!!! Have fun!

If you can afford a splurge - honeymoon deserves it - try the Ahwanee. There are chalets where you can have breakfast with deers around you. It's worthy!

Definitely the Ahwanee. Even if you don't stay there, go have dinner there some night. You'll love it! Have a great trip.
