Lodging at Carlsbad Caverns

You can still stay at White City but I went into Carlsbad to look around. There are some absolutely terrible places in Carlsbad but I finally settled on the Holiday Inn, which was by far the best place. Even so, I could hear the neighbors' TVs all night and smell their smoke (even though my place was "non-smoking". The room was not particularly to my liking but it did the trick. There does not seem to be any other town to stay, since this is an isolated part of the world.

went to carlsbad last Oct. white's city would be the closest to the caverns but i'm glad we didn't stay there...way too isolated. we stayed in carlsbad at the days inn. this was on the outskirts of town closest to the caverns and it took about 15 mins to get to the parks main enterance. the motel appeared to be no more then a couple of years old with an indoor pool/hottub and the typical free breakfast (cereal, donuts, etc). i think the room cost less than $50 per and i was quite happy with it.........
