Saturday

Oh dear the days have hot away from me. But we’re on a longer drive today, so will try to catchup.

We easily picked up the RV and as agreed the night before, drive into Brooklyn to have a final catchup and lunch, with our Aussie friends. What a fun drive that was, a little nerve wracking but a lot of fun. We sure got some great views of the city. Found a park in an industrial area and took an Uber the short distance to meeting spot. Which was The Other Half Brewery and then pizzas at Roberta’s, at Domino Park. Both were great and a lot of fun, we took a little stroll appreciating the views. Then a sad farewell, they flew home the next day, we put Long Island in the satnav and we were off.

Thoroughly enjoyed the drive, we arrived at or site for the night and settled in. Not sure I’ve mentioned that we’d joined a site where you can park up at Wineries, Breweries and other places for free. Obviously a small spend is encouraged when appropriate but so no pressure at all to do so. We parked up this night at The Better Man Brewery and it was a terrific first one. A non descript car park but a really lovely brewery. We made a ‘small’!!! contribution 😁 and slept like babies.

Sunday

Bit of a mixed up day today as we’d hoped to have the full day to explore. But alas due to it being the Memorial Day weekend, the only ferry we could get was this afternoon. So after a great sleep we set off to have a look at Southhampton and surrounds. Wow what a pretty pretty place. Loved wandering around here. The ferry crossing was fantastic , sat up on the top deck enjoying our little cruise. Thanks to all who suggested we do this.

We ended up homeless 😔 this night and stayed in a welcome centre car park. It really is good being so self contained. It was remarkably a busy but quiet spot.

Did anyone mention that you may spend the night in many Wallmart store lots and Crackerbarrel restaurants. Just stop in and ask where they want you to be in the lot. The Casinos in Connecticut both are happy to let you stay and are relatively safe as they have lots of campers watching..
