Live and Work in US

Hi!Well , I'm from Brazil and I'm very interested to live and work in USA.
So,I'd like to know what's the best city or area to live around USA.
Considering these tips :

#1 - A low cost of living
#2 - A "cool" climate
#3 - Low crime index
#4 - A city(area) with a lot of opitions of culture ,sports and leisure.
#5 - A city(area)with good job opportunities
#6 - Finally : a good city...

Any help will be appreciated very much !!
Thank you very much
Vinícius - Brazil

Minneapolis Minnesota fits your criteria well provided that "cool" allows for below freezing temperatures during winter and much of spring and fall. Cost of living is very reasonable. More cultural options than any other central US city (per capita, for the Chicagoans). people love the outdoors there. Generally healthy lifestyle with USA's third longest life expectancy by state (after Hawaii and Utah). No more crime than other US cities.
Other candidates: Ann Arbor Michigan and Denver Colorado. If smaller towns are acceptable, Fort Collins Colorado and Madison Wisconsin are great towns.

Unless you're white and rich, don't expect to live in Colorado. The average cost of a home in Denver is $250,000. That's average. Most Americans cannot afford it, much less recent Third World immigrants. Look to Texas or California for climate and affordable cost of living.

justtellingitlikeitis: Cost of living in California ain't low, at least not in cities or anywhere with culture.

Eugene or Portland, Oregon, would be good choices.
