Lincoln Park Chicago
I am finishing up my plans for our trip to Chicago (me,husband, and our 19 yr old son.) I am thinking we may want to spend some time in Lincoln Park. I read somewhere about a walking path along the lakefront. Any other ideas or local restaurants would be appreciated. Looking forward to our trip. Thanks

A couple of restaurants close to the zoo that you might check out are RJ Grunts at 2056 Lincoln Park West, a casual burger and sandwich place or if you want something nicer Mon Ami Gabi at 2300 N. Lincoln Park West, a French bistro that is only open for dinner. Both are very close to the zoo.
Although not a favorite of mine, lots of people really like Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder at 2121 N. Clark, their speciality is a pizza pot pie.
I think the best way to get to the zoo/Lincoln Park is the bus, it's more direct than the el. But you can take the red line el to the Fullerton stop, I'd say it's about a 15-20 minute walk from there.
In addition to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, there's also the Lincoln Park Conservatory which is free and right next door to the zoo.

You can catch the Number 151 bus anywhere on Michigan Avenue north of Randolph. It runs through the center of Lincoln Park and stops at the zoo entrance. The bus runs 24-hours and the map is available at http://tinyurl.com/6xasbh.
