Liberty bell 7 exhibition in Denver?

Hello to all...

During December we will be in Denver for only two days and are trying to plan our itinerary. It is my understanding that the newly rennovated Museum of Science and Nature has an exhibition featuring the Liberty Bell 7 space capsule recovered from the ocean floor.

Have any of you seen this exhibit? Is it worth attending? Do you know if it is the "actual" space capsule or just a mock-up?

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Lisa (I'm not)

When will you be in Denver? I'm actually seeing the exhibit on Dec 7th, so I can report back then!

Lisa,

We saw this exhibit last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. The exhibit is very interactive with lots of displays, video footage, gadgets to play with and buttons to push(if you have kids, they'll love it!). There's even an area where the kids can make their own rockets and launch them to the moon with the help of air pumps.

As for the Liberty Bell 7 itself, yes, it is the actual capsule. Fascinating to stand next to it and imagine that Gus Grissom actually rode it into space: gave me goosebumps.

Don't forget to save time for other exhibits such as the exceptional dioramas (sp?) and the Prehistoric World.

Have a great time in Denver!

We took the kids to see this last week and enjoyed it as much as they. As David said, it's very interactive and even includes an actual Centrofuge that you can ride in.

Highly recommended.

I haven;t been to the Dever exhibit, but saw Liberty 7 during the restoration work at the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, Kansas. Facinating!

They even had a web camera on the work for folks that wanted to watch the work online.
