Leaving for vegas soon...please help!
Hi, me and my boyfriend are traveling to Las Vegas December 7-10. We are both 22 and were wondering about the nightlife; is it true that we will have a hard time getting into clubs since we're a couple? We want to go and have a fabulous time but I'm nervous about both of us being able to get in. Has anyone traveled to Vegas a younbg couple before? This is both our first time... any pointers? Thanks so much!

Vegas is NOT like New York ... "everyone" gets in eventually, but you might wait awhile and you'll probably pay a hefty cover charge at the most popular spots.
("Everyone" means people dressed appropriately etc. Vegas is very egalitarian -- even conference attendees wearing badges - nerds - get into clubs eventually.)

I'm heading to Vegas next week myself. I've been several times to various night spots. I'd be surprised if you had trouble getting in as a couple. I've gone on a couple of bachelor parties there where a group of guys (7-10) didn't have much trouble getting in to places, and we weren't all the trendiest dressers/best looking guys either (we were dressed appropriately however). I'd think a group like that would have more trouble getting in than a couple, but this will be my first trip to Vegas with a girl. The places I've gone to seemed to be letting people in, in the order they arrived, with the excption of the VIP list. If you want to go to some of the trendier clubs, you may want to consider buying a VIP/head of line pass for that club. They are generally double cover charge but you'll avoid the wait. LasVegas.com is one place I've seen them advertised. Also, if you are staying at a hotel where there is a club you wan to attend, you may be able to get put on the list by talking to the registration desk or concierge. I've only used a VIP/head of line pass once for Rain at the Palms. We got it through one of those bachelor party companies in Vegas. It was definitely worth having because the general admission line was ridiculously long. That was in the summer of '04 so I'm not sure how packed it gets now.
Hope this helps.

Isn't that the weekend of the Rodeo? As long as you're not wearing cowboy hats...they'll be glad to let you in to most clubs. And who needs clubs in Vegas anyway? Too much other stuff to see and do.

having just come from vegas i can assure you that amidst all those guys (and women) passing out ads for escort services, you can find a ton of guys 'passing out' VIP passes for clubs as well. all for modest fees or for tips.
