LBTS..........your opinion please

I have read through the threads on LBTS and haven't seen anything really current.

We will be there for 1 week in Feb. We are looking for a place that is a 1 bedroom or efficiency for 150$ or under. It must have a nice pool area and be on the beach. A balcony or private patio area would be a plus.

I look forwward to reading your helpful suggestions! Thanks.

You may want check into the Oasis which is an oceanfront motel and across El Mar Drive place (it extends across from the ocean). Never stayed there but remember walking El Mar Oceanside around that area seeing a big olympic sized pool. I stayed at the Coral Key Inn only (across from the ocean with access to ocean immediately after crossing) and they have a really nice sized 1 BD ($109/night) suite with a king, walk in closet, full kitchen and they have small pool. I do remember Oasis' "Sandy Shoes" Cafe which has a wonder traditional breakfast buffet on a patio that overlooks the ocean. Someone else may be able to help you out since I stayed a little past Commerce and I know there are a few oceanfront motels in LBTS before you get to Commerce. There is a small mall with a Publix and Eckerd and other small shops and a Walgreens on A1A.

Thanks for your suggestions. I will check them out.

I am so sorry I offended some of you. Believe me it was NOT my intention. Actually, if I wanted to be offensive, I could have done a much better job.

I always appreciate the terrific advice I get from this site. I especially value the opinions of those that write about places they have stayed themselves. I believe that is what this site is intended for....getting travel advice.

I welcome any other suggestions.

Hey WhyNot, sometimes we respond prior to our coffee or chocolate fix. I figured if I don't know what LBTS stands for I surely can't offer advice on the location. But now I am very curious to know what it really stands for.

Thanks Beachboi. This thread would only have about 4 or 5 responses had "Lauderdale-by-the-Sea" been mentioned.

The sad thing is that I'm from South Florida originally and still didn't pick up on it! Now it makes total sense.

All I need is info..........I have done the web site thing. I was hoping for some 1st hand experiences with the accomodations.

As I wrote before, I have had wonderful suggestions on other questions I have posed.

Still hope to get some more about this post.

Pier Pointe Ocean Resort

I have friends who had a bad experience at Pier Pointe, but good experience at High Noon. We have stayed at Villa Caprice and really like it but it would be more than the $150 per night you mentioned....

I have stayed in and liked The Captain's Quarters but I recommended it to BuffaloGirl and she had a less than stellar experience. The manager tried to put them in a crummy room.

The Seaward Apartments are my favorite but no pool and no website.

Keep in mind your dates are peak season and Feb 18-25th is President's Week. It is the busiest week of the year for South Florida lodging.
