Is there any way to take a taxi to sightsee ANY DC attraction during the 2 hr layover in Dulles airport on a Sat afternoon (4pm)? Thanks

TWO hour layover? You should stay put. Its not worth the hassle of going back through security. Personally, I would be a nervous wreck the entire time wondering if I could make it back to the plane on time. Go to a bar, put up your tootsies, and throw back a coule of chilled white wines. The second part of your trip will be so much more enjoyable.

NO...DC is at least 45 minutes-one hour away....Northern Virginia traffic is the worst!! you would never make it...not much around Dulles...Reston TownCenter is nice....10 minutes away up Dulles Toll Road but still cutting it close...

stay put--you'd have an easier time getting to downtown DC from BWI.

Look at a map - Dulles is not in DC. No way you could go anywhere. Just walking from the arrival gate, stretching your legs and getting to the departure gate will eat up most of your 2 hours.

I agree with all the previous posters. I've flown into Dulles alot - and 2 hours is not that long a layover. First, I don't usually get to Dulles on time, and you can never be sure that you will either. Just stay put - there are lots of places for snacks/drinks.

Thank you ALL for your input. I will hang out in the airport and maybe do a cat nap! Thanks!

Short answer, NO. Look out of the plane as you decend and you'll see D.C. but don't even think about going there,
