LAX to CDG-worth it for a week?
Trying to plan a trip...I am working all sorts of angles and I am wondering if doing LA to Paris for a week is worth it. I see so many take these weekend trips to europe and it sounds silly to me. Is a week long trip to Europe just as silly?

Worth it? Heck yes!!
I am jonesing for Paris too and thinking about heading out just like you for a week of pure Paris bliss!
So true rjw on posting on the Europe board about the 7 day itinerary and saps is right about the 4.5-5 days but your in Paris.
Have you found any deals from LAX-CDG?

Not for me. I am of the "sounds silly" school of thought. First off I suffer terrible jet lag, second the price of a plane ticket to Europe is way too expensive, so simply not worth it for a mere 5 days (just my opinion). Were I in your shoes, I'd head to Mexico or Hawaii.

Maybe it depends on your age. Really. When I was in my twenties, sure, I would have done it. Now, in my fifties, NO WAY! We're going to France and Spain in April for 3 weeks...I wouldn't go for anything under two weeks (we live in Seattle, so the flight time is about the same). To me, this is the only disadvantage to living on the West Coast!

We'd do it in a heartbeat with a good airfare (from SFO). Our European trips have often been for 10 days. Would love more time but you take what you can get! You'd be surprised how much you can see and do in that length of time, and not rushing from place to place either.
