Ive been to Vegas twice and I have never heard of that motel. I think its better to stay on the strip. Check MGM, Excalibur, Luxor, New York,New York, Monte Carlo, the Tropicana, Hotel San Remo, Alladin. All of these are at the same intersection. They also have 1-800 numbers that you can get from 1-800-555-1212. You should be able to get a rate of less than $40 this far in advance. Some of these places may even have rates around $20. If flying in, rent a car at Value. They are cheap to begin with and are off airport property. That means you avoid the airport user tax of about %2510. And you may as well see the Grand Canyon while there. Good luck.

I have been to Las Vegas quite a few times since I live in Calif. The Westward Ho is a very small hotel. I would not recommend any friend of mine to stay there. I would suggest the same to you. May I suggest you stay in one of the larger more well know hotel/ casinos? There are so many to choose from. But DO stay in one of the larger "name" facilities, you'd surely be happier. Mark my words.
Just one man's opinion.

Ditto Steve's reply! The Westward Ho is a great place to grab a late night 99 cent steak & eggs, really. But, I would not stay there. I have never seen a room so I am not a witness to it's likely smokey rooms & bad decor. You should be able to get a room at Golden Nugget (the nicest downtown), Stardust, Treasure Island or even NY NY for less than $60/night if there isn't a convention or something big going on. When you call these hotels tell them you are calling from California, some do offer unadvertised specials to draw the compulsive quick trippers from the coast. It only cost's a few bucks more to stay at a truely nice place. These odd ball hotels target advertise in areas where travelers are less likely to know about them first hand and then offer great rates to boot. Trust me, it's not worth it, been there & done it!

I'd tend to avoid any hotel in Las Vegas with the word "HO" in its name.
Can't be a good omen.
And by the way, if someone hasn't visited a hotel since the CARTER ADMINISTRATION, in a town with turnover unlike any in the US, I'd have to pass on the advice.
