Hello was thinking about staying at the Riviera, Las Vegas Hotel in Feb. Has anyone ever stayed at this hotel? Was wondering how it was and if the rooms were nice. Thank you. Kathy

There are better places to stay (within the same price range) than the Riviera, ESPECIALLY if this is your first trip to Vegas.

Why did you choose this place, what days of the week will you be there, and what is the rate?

I've stayed there several times and would agree w/ the above poster that there are better places for the money. That is of course unless you're getting a package deal like we did a couple of times and that's why we stayed there. We actually got upgraded to a two room suite once there and that was quite nice. However, they rooms, restaurants, and casino are descent but nothing to write home about. The location is not the best either. However, like I said, if you've got a great package then it's not a bad place. I would stay there again if the price was right.

I stayed there a few years ago on my first trip to Vegas...round trip air from NYC + 3 nights at Riviera for $250 pp!!

There wasn't really anything "bad" about it. The rooms were very nice, and the pool area had grass (all other pools I've seen in Vegas have only concrete) and is quieter and more pleasant than the pools at other hotels I've visited, because there weren't as many noisy kids, and it wasn't crowded. The casino is a bit dark and dingy but I won hundreds of $$ there from the slots! The location isn't that bad...though it's closer to the end of the strip (with the older hotels) than the middle. But we were still able to walk to the other end (Luxor) from there.

I say if you get a bargain like mine, it's worth it. Otherwise there are much "fancier" places you can stay.

The Riveria is one of the oldest hotels on the strip and a bit away from the "action". Unless this is really the bargain of the century, I'd look into a hotel/casino more in the Paris, Bally's, Caesars, Mirage area.
