Since Aladdin recently went through bankruptcy I think that Paris is the safer choice - despite the fact that Aladdin is often the cheaper choice. Both have pretty good quality rooms. I've only seen the Paris pool - it is quite big, but what makes one pool better than the other? The temperature? I like Paris' buffet better but Aladdin has PF Chang's and by far the better shopping choices. As for the overall feel - they're both full of identical slot machines and table games. What's the difference?

Despite my love of the real Paris, I'd vote for The Aladdin as much more atmospheric. Although I suppose Paris, being newer will have spiffier facilities.
I'm a fan of Aladdin's shopping area, Desert Passage, and of the Asian buffet restaurant, Todai.

Aladdin is newer.
It is scheduled to be transformed into a Planet Hollywood hotel late this year.
The bathrooms at Aladdin are larger.
Also the rooms are larger at Aladdin (450 sq. ft. vs 400 at Paris).
Aladdin is usually cheaper for many reasons, including its financial troubles.
The casino at Aladdin is very boring in its design and layout compared with most of the newer casinos.
The Desert Passage shopping area is a ncie convenience, though.
The pools at both are rather plain. Paris' is slightly better IMO.

I just got back from Vegas. I visited and played in both casinos. I liked the gaming area of the Alladin better. There was no indication that this hotel and casino were in any trouble. I found the staff and cocktail waitresses very nice. The Paris was very noisy and and busy. The Paris is worth a visit. Check out the Lenotre bakery in Paris for one of the most beautifully presented and tasting deserts in Vegas. My vote for hotel would be Alladian. Whatever hotel you decide on have a great time. Both hotels are located mid strip which is a great location to be in.
