Las Vegas hotel/motel 1 night
I need to find a cheap (under $100) hotel/motel for 1 night in June. Nothing fancy, just a place to crash after our 5 hour flight and began our road trip early next morning to Utah parks. Cleanliness and comfort is major concern, don't want to sleep in a lumpy bed or use a moldy shower!! Yick!!

Squeaky, there are a number of hotels, including chain properties, that quote inexpensive rates, esp during the week. According to the hotels chart in our book, Harrah's, Bills Gambling Hall, and the Sahara--which are all on or near the strip--have rates that start under $100. There are also plenty of hotels along Paradise Road (which parallels the Strip) and in the Downtown area that should be fairly inexpensive. Check out our Vegas hotels section for more info.

If you are willing to go off strip, Sam's Town is good and very reasonable. We always have stayed on the strip but stayed at Sam's Town one time when everything was full and it was a pleasant surprise. Neighborhood isn't anything to brag about but the hotel was very nice and rooms were great. Especially good for just a place to crash.

I think the Golden Nugget makes a nice choice in regards to budget if you don't mind downtown. Nice room for $69 mid-week. Plus you will be a bit further North(if 10-15 minutes less drive-time the next day is worth it).
Also, if you are willing to drive for about an hour on the night you arrive in order to save time the next day, you could look into Mesquite, Nevada, about 72-75 miles north of Vegas. There is a nice hotel/casino called the Casablanca that is a better deal than anything Vegas can offer. (Note-no king size beds, just two queens in every room). I've paid as little as $54 a night(that was mid-week, in OCt. 2006) for a room that would easily go for $125+ in Vegas. Same games as Vegas but cheaper.
