las vegas flamingo hotel

i have paid to have a guaranteed strip view rooms at the flamingo in march. do most of these have a view of the bellagio fountains? any particular floor, location which are more recently renovated that i should request. treating my parents for their 78th b'day's and would love to get them as nice a room as possible - view of the fountains is my hope. (can't afford any of the fancier hotels - paying $119/night converted to canadian was $163/night)
thanks.

What I would do is upon check-in ask for an upgraded room. Sometimes you can get a larger room or suite at no additional cost. It never hurts to ask!
Also, ask for a newly remodeled room (if they have one).
I think you will be fine at the Flamingo, it's an older hotel but has a lot of character and I love their coffee shop.

Happy birthday to your parents too!

The extra charge gets you a fountain view. They have strip view rooms that they do not charge extra for that do not overlook the fountains.

In a couple weeks we will be at Treasure Island for $109 (see treasureisland.com). We have previously had a good rate at Bally's (caesars.com) and Monte Carlo (monte-carlo.com). It just depends on the days you will be there. All of these sites have calendars that show rates for each day of the month.

Make sure you get an upgraded room. My sister lives in Vegas and does in-room babysitting. Once at the Flamingo, water was leaking all over from the toilet. The people said that was their 4TH room they had been moved to!!

Beware of pre-paying the hotel room for your parents; we did that for friends and had a really dreadful experience when the pre-payment was "lost" and our friends were charged at check-out time. In order to use a credit card for a pre-payment the hotel required that we give them our driver's-license number and social-security number, which no wise person would ever do because of identity theft. So we sent a company check and were told it had been received and credited to the account, but that later the amount had somehow vanished. It took innumerable telephone calls to finally reach someone willing to look into the problem and then more calls, including one to the the Las Vegas Better Business Bureau, until it was resolved nearly a month later. So be warned.

What are the dates in March. I just saw a special online for the Mirage in March. $85.00 a night. On certain dates. Or you may want to call the Mirage. Another good hotel to call is Aladdin. Beautiful Hotel! I've stayed there twice and both times we requested a room facing the fountains and had no problems. Sometimes Aladdin has good deals too. Check out www.MirageLasVegas.com or www.aladdincasino.com

We stayed one night in July 03, and were upgraded to an upper floor with a GREAT view of bellagio fountains --- without even asking! (i think it was the 24th floor) Granted, it was mid-summer with a rate of $55, and about 98 degrees in the shade!

I really think in ANY hotel, alot depends on who you speak with and how busy and / or cordial they feel at that moment.

Also, if you mention its in celebration of your parents b-days, they'll likely be much more accomodating.

Sounds like it will be a trip to remember - have a great time!!

We stayed at the Flamingo and it was great. It was clean and we had a great view. I think it is a good choice.

Make sure you get a renovated room. The one we stayed in last years was well worn, stains on carpet and holes in fabric on chairs and faded. I would check other hotels for a better rate. That price seems high for flamingo.
