Las Vegas Flamingo
Hi, I've been calling the Flamingo getting mixed information so I was hoping someone who's stayed recently can help.
We are going to be staying at the Flamingo and recently my 2 friends decided to join us in Vegas as well...the problem is now that the Flamingo is booked. They can actually get the same rate as us for the Flamingo at Manadalay Bay even if a room does open up at Flamingo. When calling the Flamingo to ask if we can pay for our guests to join us at the pool for the day, they said no, it's only for registered guests. Yet when I called again they said it wouldn't be a problem to have guests and they don't have to pay. Do they swipe cards, just look at them, allow one person per key, etc.
We're trying to figure out if we should continue our quest to get our friends with us a Flamingo if a room opens up or if we'll be able to some how have them stay with us at the Flamingo pool for the day and they can stay at MB.
We know not to even try to get into MB's pool because they are so strict and we don't want to pay $35 a person to use their pool when we can use the Flamingo's for free.
Thanks in advance for your help!!

I guess I'm really confused. Are you saying they can get a room at Mandalay Bay for the same rate as you're going to pay at the Flamingo? If so, then why aren't you cancelling your room at Flamingo and get a room at that price at Mandalay Bay? There's no comparison between the hotels!

We already have a large group staying at the Flamingo and we don't want to change all the reservations- we have a few player's club members who will be up late night in the casino and we like the central strip.
That's why we're not at MB ourselves. Thanks for asking for the clarification

We stayed a few weeks ago and yes they were now requiring key cards to access the pool area. If friends met you in your room and proceeded down to the pool area with you I don't see a problem. Just tell them "my husband left me after we checked in, and now this friend is the 2nd occupant of my room".
Ha ha . Seriously though, one person checks into a room for two, they really don't know who the 2nd person in the room is, right?
I think it would be really inconvenient to have friends down at the MB when you're way up at the Flamingo. You might try some of the discount services like quikbook.com or tripreservations or lvtb.com - they might still have rooms at the Flamingo even though it's sold out. They buy a number of rooms ahead of time at a big discount, mark them up and resell them. The rooms have already been set aside for them so they might still have openings. Usually these rooms are "uncancellable" once paid for however, so beware.

I agree that it will be terribly inconvenient for your friends to be at Mandalay Bay while you are at Flamingo. I assume you've tried hotels that are closer to the Flamingo like Bally's, Paris, Caesar's, Bellagio, etc. Mandalay Bay is very nice, but it won't be convenient.
Just my two cents.

We've checked all the hotels in the area- all are sold out except for Ceasar's at 299 a night! We have MB and Flamingo for $195 a night so we don't want to pay that much. I will check out those broker sites- what a great idea!!!
Thank you so much!!
