Las Vegas - Christmas

My boyfriend and I are from London and are going to Las Vegas at the beginning of December. Will there be Christmas decorations up then or will it be a bit early? Also what is the weather like at that time of year - I am thinking jeans, sweatshirts, jumpers and a coat - am I right?

Thanks in advance.

Hannah,

Some hotels may have decorations up, but Las Vegas isn't really big on Christmas decorations like say San Francisco or New York. The weather is normally nice with cold evenings. Definite go to the Bellagio Hotel Garden, it has a different theme for each season so it should have the Christmas theme up by then and it's always beautiful. If you get the chance go see the show "O" - it's a bit expensive but wonderful and you have to get seats well in advance. Have a great trip.

Like the previous poster said, Las Vegas doesnt get all that decorated up for Christmas. However all of the Hotels.Casinos will have their decorations up by the time you get there.

You are thinking along the right lines regarding clothing. It can get very chilly to cold in Las Vegas in December or could be quite pleasant. The evenings and nights will definitely be on the chilly side.

The time that you are going is during the slowest time of the year( Dec 1-23 ).

I agree, there are not a whole lot of decorations at Christmas probably because there are already so many lights and decorations all year round. We were there the week of Christmas recently and the weather was in the 60 -70's during the day but a little chillier at night. The clothes you are thinking of bringing would be fine.

You picked a good time to go to Vegas. You may want to avoid around the middle of December because Vegas has their National Rodeo Finals in town, which is THEIR equivalent of the Super Bowl.
