I'm, not sure how old you are, but some of this pertains to all ages, and some is more relevant for the younger group:
MGM has a small amusement park with a log ride, drop zone type ride, etc.
Circ de soleil has an awesome performance at the Mirage(?).
Shopping in the Forum shops at Caesar's.
Watching the pirate show in front of the pirate hotel (what's it called?).
Ride the New York New York roller coaster.
See the Camelot show with knights in armor at the hotel with Merlin in front.
See the white tiger show at the Mirage.
Relax by the pool.....
Loads of things to do!

The FREE outside pirate show is at Treasure Island Hotel & is right next door to the Mirage Hotel which has the circus show and the famous Sigfreid & Roy magic show featuring their white tigers and other animals. However, both of these shows are pretty expensive. Sigfreid & Roy was US$75.00 a few years ago. However, there are a couple of white tigers on display behind glass just off the lobby and you can see them for FREE. Also FREE and outside the Mirage is the Volcano show running continuously. On the other side of the Mirage is Caesar's; go inside the mall and see the FREE Bacchus show with the fountain and sculptures. Also, check out this website:
http://www.localslovelasvegas.com
There will be a few FREE and low cost things to do detailed there.
Good Luck and have a great time!
P.S. Vegas is busy year round and not everyone is honest. Keep your purses zipped closed and wear them across your chest, not just worn over one shoulder. This will prevent pickpockets who are VERY clever & quick and the grab & run thieves who go after your purse or camera very quickly. Use common sense, stay together and don't accept drinks carried to you by men you don't know -- you know what I mean!
Stay in well lighted places and don't go off exploring dark areas....don't I sound just like your Mom? But, I'm serious -- be smart, look smart, walk smart -- be aware of who's around you and what's going on.

Today, 7/11/00, there is a special on Las Vegas at the homepage of http://www.yahoo.com. It features of bargain deals (air + 2 nites hotels) only from Los Angeles to LV. However, when you click on it, you will see a Guide to LV along with weather, etc.
That might give you other FREE or low cost fun things to do.
There's an old car (lots of them) museum at the Imperial Hotel (walking distance from Mirage, across the street) if you like that stuff. Can't remember if it is FREE or not.
Again, good luck and have fun.
P.S. Circus Circus hotel has free circus acts throughout the day and, I believe, a really good arcade with lots of games, etc.

I was dragged Las Vegas last year. I was not looking foward to it as I am not a big gammbler. I had to be dragged out of Las Vegas. It was awesome. Take a trip to the Hoover Dam. Most hotels offer a day trip. Lake Meade(sp?) is beautiful and the tour is really cool. All the hotels have shows. I recommend FX playing at MGM Grand.

I am being dragged to LV this week and I am not a gambler either. In addition to the suggestions above, I will be checking out "indoor skydiving." The place is called Flyaway Indoor Skydiving (website flyawayindoorskydiving.com). Sounds a lot safer than outdoor skydiving!
