Hi Linda, I have planned for our summer vacation, in June 200l at the Kona Village Resort. I researched this resort through many books and magazines and also visited their website. It looks very good. We will be traveling with our three children 14-10 ages. According to this Fordors website, I have found several people who have stayed their and have said some very good things about it. It was really hard for me to chose between Kona Village and the Four Seasons, but I thought that for a real family trip this would be great. Please let me know if you find out any more information, I would love to hear it!!

Pam I wanted to get other people's opinions of Kona Village. My husband and I were actually married there and we think it is heaven on earth. You will love it. The lagoon was the best spot. Good kids program as well. You can walk along the beach and see Four Seasons which is gorgeous but Kona Village is truly Hawaiin. Good Luau and music. E-mail me if yo want more information.

I booked Kona Village for 4 nights several years ago. When my husband and I arrived there, we decided to leave after 2 nights. Although it is a very beautiful spot, it is dead in the evening. We were looking for a little more activity, like dancing, or some kind of entertainment. But there was none. Now, in all fairness, things may have changed since we were there. It is a great place to go for a getaway from the rest of the world.

actually, thankfully, the nightlife is still dead at kona village. hawaiian music at the outdoor tiki bar is about as wild as it gets. being honeymooners, we were not bothered by this. plus we were on east coast time, so were wide awake at 6 am every day, so we were tired.
we loved it to death. totally paradise, but i need to say that of the three Hale areas, i liked lagoon the least. the Hales are older, and i generally thought it was musty and stagnant with all the lagoons. my sister and several guests we met there felt the same way. we stayed in Lava, and thought it was awesome. our jacuzzi tub had a big window overlooking this huge lava flow, totally private.
Ocean area is also nice.
you'll love it.
