Knott's Berry Farm

Is Knott's Berry Farm a place to go for a 13 year old roller coaster enthusiast?

Thanks in advance

Yes! My kids loved it. More thrilling than Disneyland.

Sorry, too quick on the enter key.

Ghostrider is the wooden coaster at Knott's. It's consistently ranked among the top wooden coasters in the world among enthusiasts.

If you are more a fan of the steel coasters, they have Xcelerator, Jaguar, Montezume's Revenge, Silver Bullet (new since I was at the park), and some others.

Knotts is a pretty park, and compact, so you won't have to do a lot of walking.

Here's a link to the RCDB page for Knott's: http://www.rcdb.com/pd18.htm

Enjoy the park!

Hi Melissa,

You don't say when you are going, but we were there last week, and they are doing a lot of maintenance & construction right now. Several of the rides, including the Jaguar coaster and the log ride, were closed down. There were also parts of the park that were inaccessible because of this work. I'm sure they schedule this work during the off season. You might want to call in advance to see whether it will be worth the trip and admission $$. Thirteen-year-olds pay the "adult" admission.

My kids (12 & 10) like Knott's much more than Disney, because of the generally shorter lines. Currently, they are only open from 10 am to 6pm on weekdays. If most of the rides and attractions are open, you can definitely find enough to do to fill that time.

Have fun!
