Keys Weather in November
I am planning my honeymoon to follow a November 2 wedding and am debating the Florida Keys. Am wondering if anyone can provide input on the weather that time of year, in particular, whether there is a real risk of hurricanes.

Hi -
I honeymooned in Key West after a November 11, 2000 wedding.
It was the perfect destination after our planned Aruba trip went down in flames after Air Aruba went under back then.
We go to Key West a few times a year anyway, so honeymooning in our special place was really more enjoyable.
We had absolutely PERFECT weather on our almost 2 week stay. Not a drop of rain, no humidity and the most beautiful sunshine every day.
Have a wonderful wedding and enjoy a romantic Key West honeymoon!!!!!!

It's warmed up a little since I lived there, but I remember a couple of rare days where I needed a sweater in November for a few hours. You will probably have mostly sunny gorgeous weather. I also think early November is a great time to go because you won't hit the peak tourist season.

If you are worried about a hurricane, go to ABC Islands Aruba Bonare or Curacao. Aruba is awesome and you can get some great package deals that includes airfare and hotel. A great place for a honeymoon...especially in November because all the kids are back in school.

The weather in Florida in November is wonderful, beautiful, can't think of anymore adjectives at the moment. I went in Nov. 2000 and it was sunny and rain free the whole time. Actually Nov. is the least rainiest month of the year. I went to Ft. Lauderdale and it is only 26 miles north of Miami so I am a pretty reliable source.

For detailed information about the history of hurricanes affecting Key West go to hurricanecity.com/keywest.htm
I don't know why anon cancelled his/her trip to Key West last year, but it wasn't because of a hurricane. The last reported hurricane to either hit or brush Key West was Oct. 15, 1999.

Don't worry about the hurricane risk - you can't plan around it anyway. If I recall correctly, Nov. is one of the windier months in So. Fla. (outside of March), but it's typically nice and warm during the day. Shorts on Thanksgiving Days is the norm. That said, it is at least possible to get a cold front anytime during November and the water always starts to cool down around that time.
It's all relative. I remember Canadians sunning on Miami Beach in January when the natives were bundled up in sweaters.

If you are talking about Hurricane Michelle in early Nov, it wasn't even anything to mention. There was an evacaution order for maybe a day. The Keys only got some rain and a little wind. Thunderstorms have been known to cause more damage than Michelle was to have done to the Florida Keys. Cuba got the worst of it.
