Key West Resorts

We are planning a trip to Key West, has anyone stayed at the Pier House, or the Hyatt? Any comments would be great!

The Hyatt is really liked. Do a search on the forum and you will get a lot of info.

I've stayed at the Hyatt several times and like it a lot. Try and get a room either with a full Gulf view or on the side next to the Galleon...the views are better. The problem with the Pier House is that unless you're very specific about the view you want and are willing to pay top dollar, you'll likely end up in a room overlooking the parking lot, because that's where most of them are.

Thank you FTH & Susan for your response. US Air has a deal on the Pier House, listed as Run of House. Only concern with Hyatt- is the "beach" public?

The Hyatt's "beach" (which is postage stamp size) is not public. You have to walk through the property and around the pool to reach it.

I love the Hyatt!! The place was clean, staff was excellent and the grounds are very nice. The fish ponds with the koi and turtles was fun to sit and watch.

Our room was huge - as was the bathroom.
The linens were always crisp, folded to perfection! Towels were very big and fluffy - not hard and scratchy like some other hotels. Comfortable robes and slippers were provided.

I don't think you can go wrong with this choice.

Have a nice stay and let us know how your trip went!!
