Key West in May
We are going to Key West in early May, and I was wondering what the crowds would be like then. Also, should we expect a rain shower in the afternoon? I was here once in February and had a great time! Does anyone remember a regular performer named Sally? She played guitar and sang and had the audience [especially guys] doing really bizarre things. I would love to see her again but I can't remember where she performed. It was in a small hotel lounge on Duval, a couple of blocks from Pier House.

I went to Key West a few years ago during May, and had good weather (sunny and very warm to hot) throughout the whole trip. I th0ought it was a great time to go. The crowds are less than other times of the year that I have been there, but hardly barron, especially during the day when the cruise ships are coming in. A bit of a warning, we rented bicycles one mostly cloudy morning (I was shirtless), and within a couple of hours I got a pretty bad burn, so never underestimate the sun there.

Thanks for your replies. I know the sun can be very intense in Florida. We plan to use lots of sunscreen. Thanks for the photo of Sallie,George. I think that is the same person we saw.I hope she is performing when we are there. Her act was a lot of fun! Thanks again for your help. Laurie

The crowds should not be too bad. The weekends are usually still pretty busy but it is after season so things should be a little calmer. Sally was the draw at the Quay a few years ago. It was across from the Pier House but has closed. She now plays at the Bull and Whistle and still gets a pretty good crowd. Here is a link with the entertainment schedule for April. I don't think May is on there yet but just keep checking. http://www.thebullandwhistle.com/
