Tolerance is something you guys invented. For your information, Jesus DID NOT TOLERATE sin. I guess you could say he was INTOLERANT of it. He didn't hate the sinner, but he HATED and DID NOT TOLERATE the sin.

Jesus would have compassion for gay people, but I guarantee he would not condone their lifestyle. It's right in the Bible!

Jim, you obviously didn't read my post. I said I wasn't going to Key West; have no desire to.

Yes, we all have rights. Some people choose the right to be stupid. And to tell the world about how clueless they really are via fodors.com.

I'm still unsure why anyone cares if gays are in Key West or not. It's a fun city with great nightlife and super restaurants. Jean, where do you vacation if you won't go to KW or, I assume, San Francisco, LA, New York, etc? I'm curious.

Yes Jim, you sure did do that via fodors.com. If you think tolerating anything is progressive, then have at it! I'll stick to old fashioned moral values.

Bryan, the reason *I* care is that I think it is unnatural and disgusting. I prefer not to subject myself to it, especially the *flaming* gays, and I know many, many people who feel the same. If I have a choice with the type of people I hang around, I would prefer it not be that. And there are other types also. It all has to do with behavior which I find unappealing.

Folks, we've been through these arguments over and over and over again on this board. Really, it's time to give it a rest. I think Dawn probably has the information she needs to make a decision. Personally, I think she'd enjoy Key West.

Dawn,

If I were you I'd nix the Key West
trip and instead go to Scranton, PA.
Because of widespread depression there,
people are neither gay nor straight.
And you can visit the nearby Archibald
Pothole (which was created by a glacier
I'm told).

Cheers,

Gerry K

Returned from Kona last week. Don't worry. Have a great ime. Don't forget to take the Fairwinds tour or float down the flume at the Northern end of the island.

Daniel, xxx, and Jim-- First of all, I do not watch Springer. I happen to be an educated, Christian woman who is sick to death of people telling me what I have to tolerate! I just wanted some TRUE information about the Keys, unlike what was provided to me by my friend. I never said that I wouldn't go there if there was a large percentage of homosexuals there! I also never said that I condemned anyone or his/her lifestyle! xxx, you don't even have the
intestinal fortitude to use a name! Daniel and Jim, seems to me that you are mighty touchy on the subject... did it strike a nerve? I always thought that intelligent, mature people could "agree to disagree" and have rational discussions about anything. YOU'RE the ones who got upset about my original question. Perhaps it's YOU that need to grow up. Maybe YOU should take YOUR hang-ups to Springer.

Jesus, protect me from your followers.

Dawn, please don't come to Key West. To be honest, myself and the other straight folk down here don't want you!

Dawn, you should realize that to many people your original question was offensive on several levels. I'm surprised an educated person such as yourself didn't see this before posting.

Now, go enjoy Key West! It is a wonderful place with lots of fun people, both gay and straight.

Dawn-For someone who claims to be educated you sure come across as a moron! You must also have a lot of time on your hands to keep posting your inane tripe here. Until you get a clue lady---go somewhere else....

Dawn, I changed just TWO words in your sentence and made gay people black instead. Now do you see why people are pissed? You were rude!!

My friend tells me there are Sickle Cell Anemia-ridden people standing on street corners there. Is this true? I don't really believe her! My hubbie and I are going on a belated honeymoon, and quite frankly, this is nothing I want to see. Without yelling at me, please let me know the deal on the black population there.

Well, Margo...rather depends on how you frame things, now doesn't it? You wouldn't find quite so many tourists visiting KW if this were the case. Still boils down to values, prejudices and personal perspectives.

Kammie, militant nazis hardly compare. Yes, that WOULD be different because it would imply danger. Singling out a group of people because of who they are rather than what they stand for is abhorrent. That was my point.
