Kauai rental

We are visiting Kauai March 2012 and would like rental suggestions. I've heard Hanalei is best, but options open. Would like ocean view, 1 or 2 bedrooms, quality furnishings, king bed preferred, under $300/day. Staying up to 3 weeks, dates open. Thanks.

We rented a tiny cottage in Hanalei. It was very inexpensive, but it's probably smaller than what you want.

There are more options on vrbo, and I'm pretty sure if you do a search, you can find other properties in Hanalei reviewed by iamq.

One of our favorite places in all of Hawaii is the Hanalei Colony Resort. The setting is among the most tranquil anywhere in Hawaii and, despite the implication of "resort", the price is within a few $'s of your budget for a Premium oceanview condo.

Here is an aerial (in addition to being waterfront, building G affords views beautiful sunrise views; upstairs recommended to avoid the nuisance of ceiling thunder): http://www.wizardpub.com/kauai/krhanaleicol.html

check VRBO. We have used them many times. SeaLodge in Princeville, Poipu Luxury sits right on the water's edge in Poipu near the Hyatt. Kiahuna Plantation but don't think you can get 2 bedroom for under $300.00...always worth negotiating the price. Never hurts to ask for a better price. It has worked for me in the past.....Hope you find the right one. Enjoy the garden isle.....

I like this rental company, but there are several other reputable companies as well. This one has a good search function.

Have you researched surf and weather conditions for this time of year? They may not matter to you, but please be aware of the differences in weather in different locations.

Happy planning

We're renting one of the cottages here in a few months: http://www.halemakaicottages.com/. More than you're wanting to spend, but we managed a bit of a deal, even for a September rental.
