Hello fodorites!

I am planning to go to Kauai in end of July...been searching for nice vacation homes for rent...and seriously considering one house.

However, that house is next to Kuhio hwy at near west end of beach. Should I concerned about road noise? I am not sure how much traffice moves on "HWY".

not much noise there. I wouldn't hesitate to rent a house there. Hanalei is a great funky little town.

If you post a link to the house I can tell you what I know about the specific location. I like to rent homes along Weke Road or on the short artery roads that connect the highway with Weke. That would be my suggestion.

I haven't stayed there. And from the photos I can see of the outside of the house I am not familiar with that particular property, however, I will say it is NOT in Hanalei. It is farther North/West. From the photo's I would say closer to a beach known as Pinetrees. Not a bad spot (I love pretty much the entire north shore) but I would not call it Hanalei. The "highway" as it were, is not a problem. I would not be concerned at all about noise. This is a road that narrows to one lane in spots. Not a highway the way it is normally thought of. Just my 2 cents.

Oh and the address you think it is, cannot be. At least according to Google. You would be down the hill in the Hanalei Valley, not by Princeville.

The listing says it is in Haena, which is about 15 minutes north/west of Hanalei. The place looks great.

I thought Pinetrees was on Hanalei Bay, which is in Hanalei.

either way - whereever it is - there is no super hiway that would make noise. Looks like a lovely setting.....

I was going off of the pictures of Bali Hai to approximate location. I just meant it isn't in 'downtown' Hanalei town.
