Kauai in Winter?
Help, I posted this message several days ago and it's disappeared! I know that someone had responded but I can't find it with any search.
My wife and I have a Marriott 7 day coupon that we want to use so we are looking at the Kauai Marriott next January, February or March. One of my wife's co-workers told her that the weather may stop us from doing things such as bike tours, the helicopter tours or the boat tours along the Na Pali coast. Will the weather be a factor? Will we be able to swim on the beach.
We were in Maui in March two years ago and didn't have problems with the weather. Is Kauai that much different? Thanks.

Just returned from a week on Maui Feb 19-26. I can't imagine the weather stopping us from doing anything at that time, and I can't imagine that Kauai is any different. We watched "Maui Weather Today" every morning while there and all the islands seemed to be pretty similar in weather patterns, rain on the east side (if any), sun on the west. Have been to the Hawaiian Islands for the last three February's, and found the water to be much warmer this time, at least in the Wailea area of Maui. I'd actually be interested to hear if anyone knows if Kauai is "colder" than Maui in February, because our trip next year will be to Kauai, if possible. It appears that the islands are in the 80's year round.

Weather shouldn't be a problem at all. Kauai is wetter than most of the islands but the precipitation is usually on Waialeale. Anyway, most often, the rain comes and it goes almost as quickly and it leaves everything refreshed. The only bummer to your plan would be that infrequent hurricane/typhoon, but that is relative to your karma....Aloha!

If you want an idea of what the weather is like on a typical March day/week, check out www.starbulletin.com/ Click on to their weather site. We had the most gorgeous sunset this evening! (March 2, 2001)
