Kauai in June

Any recommendations on where to stay in Kauai in early June? I want to avoid the rain as much as possible. The Hyatt is booked and the Princeville a little out of my price range. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you checked the Marriott. It's a beautiful property that used to be the Westin. It's in a nice bay and not a long drive from the airport It's in a good location to avoid some of the morning commute coming into Lihue that you'd get from Poipu if you were going to the north shore. I know some people think you might hear the sound from the aiport but we didn't notice that when we stopped in for a visit.
Are you looking for a resort or are you open for other possibilities?

I did see the Marriott and thanks for sharing your experience. I'm open to other options, and noticed that I could also rent a cottage. I'm not sure if this would be ideal for a honeymoon. The privacy would be nice, but it's kind of a risk I'm not sure I'm willing to take for my honeymoon. I need to do a little more research. Does anyone have any experience renting cottages in Kauai? Any other recommendations? Thanks again for the help.

check out hotelonsale.com Also I would call locally based travel agents the ones I know Roberts Hawaii and Pleasant Island Holidays. Always ask if there is a AAA discount and join before you leave this will also help you rental car. Last but not least last summer starwood hotels was offering a %35 discount to individuals just for signing up for the frequent stay program of their hotels. See if this is still on. Good luck

Rent a condo would be my suggestion more room and cheaper than many hotels.
Would certainly book Poipu that time of year but if you don't see yourself in a condo I would do 1-2 nights on the North Shore save you some driving and it is gorgeous even in the rain should you hit some imho.

Hi, I just booked my room with HawaiiGolfDeals.com. with David Mills.

We are golfers and also getting married in July. My first choice for condo was the Kauai Coast Resort. However, we are booked at The Radisson for now.

He says the southern part, Poipu area has the most sun!

Best of luck! Have a nice trip!

We're booked at the Marriott in July. Have heard nothing but good things. If you are a Marriott Rewards Member (their frequent guest program), you can get a good rate through their web site. Input "M11" in the area for promotion code. If you are not a member, you can register on their website. We got an ocean/pool view room for $219/night.

Wow! Thanks for the helpful info on the Marriott. I was thinking of staying a few nights throughout the island so I don't have to drive too much. Maybe 3 nights in Poipu (in a B&B?), 2 in Lihue (Marriott?), 2 in Kapaa (still researching), and 2 in Princeville or Hanalei.

Good idea? Bad idea?

Should I stick to two points instead to make it less nomadic (maybe just Poipu & Princeville)?

Thanks again, hopefully I can repay with advice upon my return!

I wouldn't Ben it is a pain packing and un packing not to mention the break in your day when you can't get into your room right away. I say split it up Poipu and Hanalei.

I know it is tempting with Marriot, Hyatt and Pville hotels but I did this last summer on Oahu and found that it just broke up the peace of our trip. We did get a broad skop of the island but it felt more like work. FYI coconut coast is worth a skip entirely.

Tremendous amount of great hiking around Canyon and Kokee Park, Napali when you stay in one place you do this sort of thing more.
