Kauai Coast Resort at the Beachboy - Comments?

Has anyone stayed at this property? It's on the east (Wailua) coast. We have a free one-week stay there for attending a timeshare presentation and would like some feedback from anyone who has visited the property or stayed there. Thanks in advance for your help!

Have not stayed there but did walk around abit. It was going through major renavation (they should be finished) turning all the rooms into suites w/kitchenettes. Just an averaage hotel with a nice pool area. The beach is not swimmable but good for lounging around. If you are not expecting a 5 star hotel it will be alright.

Ann,
If this is the hotel behind the coconut Marketplace and next door to The Islander on the Beach, it was just being finished up when we were there in Dec '00/Jan '01.

As Zachary said, "ave. hotel...".
We had friends who stayed there years ago and the rooms were pretty nice but no Hyatt, P'ville Resort or Marriott.

The beach is a bit on the rocky side although swimmable a bit further on down by Al & Don's restaurant.

"Free" isn't bad for a stay just about anywhere on Kauai!

Hi...Just returned 2 weeks ago. The place is fabulous. They completed the huge renovation and the units are perfect in every way. We had a 1 bedroom (large bedroom) and huge bathroom. Each unit has its own washer and dryer and full furnished kitchen. There are bar-b-ques spread around (we ate in several nights and used these), tennis courts, a pool with a waterfall. Although it is on the beach, it's not a very useable beach (rocky). It is an excellent location and good for going north or south since it's in the middle of the island. We are planning a return trip and will stay there again. Good Choice.

I forgot to mention that you can view photos at rci.com and the Kauai Coast is well deserving of it's RCI Gold Crown distinction.
