Kauai - Cliffs or Alii Kai

We really liked Pu'u Poa and Pali Ke Kua on the North Shore. We rented a Pali Ke Kua unit for a very good price and that unit has increased its price for next year so both condos are out of our budget. Instead, we are looking at Alii Kai I and Cliffs, since both still offer ocean bluff views. By using Cliffs or Alii Kai instead of PP or PKK, we would save at least $400 for activities or dinner.
As far as accommodations, can anyone give insight to which is better, Cliffs or Alii Kai? Does Alii Kai offer a jacuzzi next to the pool?

If we choose Cliffs, which building offers the best view? I've already looked at wizardpub.com's website, but I would like to hear first-hand experience, especially the building number. I read somewhere (can't remember where) that someone mentioned building 7 is better than 8 or 9. Please help.

Also, has anyone rented unit 7302 or 9302 at the Cliffs? Please post your comments.

Mahalo,
Hanalei

Hanalei,

gyppielou has raved about unit 4-207 at the Cliffs in the past. I think it is available on vrbo. Maybe she will weigh in here.

Stayed ocean front at Alii Kai about 2 years ago and from our large lanai we saw the most incredible "breach fest" of whales, and slept to the sound of waves crashing on the shore below.

The third floor Alii Kai 2BR unit was in newer condition and closer to the ocean than the Pali Ke Kua unit we stayed in on our last trip, but Pali Ke Kua has much easier beach access.

We did not bother with the pool at Alii Kai or Pali Ke Kua with the ocean so close, however the trail access to beach below Alii Kai was very steep and slick and not for everyone.

Hi John,
Is this Alii Kai I or II?
I only see the review for Alii Kai I in the blue book.

Thanks,
Hanalei

Aloha Hana lei ,

I'll have to check on that info.

's at link below look very similar to our unit, except we were top floor, and we only paid ~150/night $)

HI,
WE stay at the Cliffs every year for three weeks. Own timeshare there. We generally try to get the number 8 or 9 building, Last year had 9301. Our friends rented 9302 and it was a bargain and a great unit. Feel free to email me with any questions.
