Kauai Bars and Pupus
We are going to Kauai in the next week. I am looking for interesting bars and/or restaurants with atmosphere/views and if possible, good appetizer menus. I can get the hotel comments from previous postings. It does not matter to us if some of the bars are considered "dives" or very nice. Just looking for fun drinks and good food. Thanks for your help.

North shore -- with views:
Princeville Hotel
Hanalei Bay Resort (Princeville)
The newest "view" place is in Wainiha at the old Charo's Restaurant. Haven't tried it yet, but the bar and the view are getting the same good reviews as in the past.

We like Keoki's Paradise in the Poipu Shopping Center. It has a very nice tropical setting and you won't think you are in a shpping center. They often have happy hour local musicians and a nice bar/pupu menu. Bar food is pretty good, we often eat there instead of in the dining room. Another suggestion in the Poipu area, is the Beach House Restaurant. Although considered one of the better restaurants, it has a nice bar for ther casual drink and pupu. This place has the BEST view on the island and their gourmet appetizers are really great. For atmosphere, this place cannot be beaten.

Where we REALLY thought they had great drinks was at the Sheraton's Bar. We met some nice people there at night, although we did't eat there. We stayed at the Hyatt and also recommend Stevenson's Library. A gentleman's club type of atmosphere with good drinks and good food.
